Day 4
We had planned to go to Ngong Ping to see the Big Buddha on
Day 4, but since we were so drunk last night, we woke up late and decided to do a city tour instead (read: city tour equals shopping). After a disgusting lunch at Causeway wherein I was served chicken salmonella (worst meal ever), we headed to Victoria Park to shoot some videos.

(Have I already mentioned that my best friend Alej was
shooting videos all throughout our trip? He plans to stitch them into a single
clip that summarizes our whole HK 2013 experience. I can’t wait to see it.)

I liked hanging out at Victoria Park because the weather was
chilly, so walking a lot wasn’t a burden. We stayed there for a few hours, taking pictures and people-watching, before we decided to check out the shops in Causeway.
By nighttime, we went to
Tsim Sha Tsui to shop in H&M and to see the Symphony of Lights show, a grand display of lighting technology installed on almost all the Hong Kong skyscrapers around the harbor. It was amazing to be honest, but not my thing so I found it boring. I enjoyed looking at the expensive shops (Hermes, Gucci, etc.) on the
way to the Promenade more than the lights show, though I must say, the view of

After that we went back to Nathan Road to meet up with my
aunt and uncle, who live and work in Hong Kong. We had wanted to try hot pot but most of these shops close early. Instead, we were treated to a fantastic
dinner at The Spaghetti House, where we devoured pizzas, pasta, and yummy ribs! After that, my uncle and aunt toured us around the area and took us to the
souvenir shops where we could get stuff at lower prices. We ended just before
midnight.

You think the day ended then? Of course not! This was our
last night in Hong Kong, so of course we went to LKF! We immediately bought
Jack-Colas upon arriving. I gulped mine in 10 seconds and ordered a Corona,
which I gulped again in 10 seconds so I ordered another one. Amidst beer and
loud music, we partied on the streets of LKF, met a few more Pinoys, made
friends, got phone numbers— it was just amazing! You can act as foolish as you
want to be and nobody would care; unlike in Manila, where people would stare at
you if you do something they find weird, like do the salsa or something. In LKF
you can be a total freak and everyone would appreciate it.

My favorite person that night is Miguel, a Spanish guy who’s
friends with another Espanol who likes my friend Via. He’s a total goof: he
pretends to speak Chinese and talks to waiters and laughs out loud with
amusement when the waiters don’t understand him; he invents a lot of senseless
stories (I like people who say absolutely the most nonsense things); he flirts
with random women (even mother types); and he made me experience drinking beer
at Mc Donald’s for the first time. Yes, that’s right. I thought breakfast was
the end of drinking but apparently we could drink inside the diner, and even after
that, we went to a 7 Eleven to buy more Carlsberg and we were drinking while
walking on the streets. I loved it!!!

By 8AM of the next day, we finished getting crazy and got
back to our hotel. It was the BEST night of my life, in any country. Period.
